The first GNewArchaeology workshop is forthcoming!
The GNewArchaeology – Free/Libre Software, Open Data and Open Knowledge in Archaeology workshop is part of a cultural project promoted and organized by the students from the University of Ferrara and funded by the Cultural Fund of the University of Ferrara, Italy.
This workshop, for which the participation is free, will be an opportunity to bring together students, organizations, other projects and working groups. The goal of the workshop is to create, with presentations, tutorials and round tables discussions, opportunities for meeting and debates about topics regarding the use and dissemination of free and open source software aimed at the public institutions and particularly at the archaeological research processes.
The workshop will take place on the October 13th – 14th, 2011
The workshop will be in the Department of Biologia ed Evoluzione of the University of Ferrara:
Palazzo di Bagno – Corso Ercole I d’Este, 32 – Ferrara – Italy
The workshop will have several formats and ways in which you can participate; anyway all your proposal on any aspect of using free software in archaeological research, creating, publishing and reusing open archaeological data, are welcome.
